My name is Colleen Morrison, and I am an ambassador for Kootenay Christian Academy. I "ran" the Fun Run last year with my son, Nate, but found that by not training ahead of time for the run, I was ill-prepared to run the race. I had to take many walking breaks and this slowed down my son who was running with me. He really wanted to, and was capable of, running the entire race, and I felt I let him down. I have decided that this year will be very different! My goal is to run/jog the entire race with my son by my side, only taking walking breaks when/if he needs them. To prepare for this, I plan on exercising at least fives per week for a minimum of a half hour until race day. Two weeks before the race, I plan to run the actual route at least a couple of times before the big day. Last year my time was 41:11, but this year I plan to run the race in 35 minutes or less. I can't wait for the race this year and neither can my son, Nate. It's going to be awesome!
